The following Terms of Service are sort of guidelines to the use of Malwr. We haven't a legal entity, we are not a company or an organization of any other sort, therefore the website is provided as it is, generally governed by the common sense of both its users and its operators. We aren't here to enforce any rule or take legal actions, we just want to make you understand what you should or shouldn't do and what we consequently would or wouldn't do. The guidelines explained below might be bent at our discretion under special circumstances.
Generally speaking, if you contain the number of accounts we would really appreciate it. Every account as an associated API key that can be used for automating tasks. We don't really enforce any limits to the use of the API interface, so there's no real need to fill our system with clones.
If you need to permanently delete your account feel free to contact us.
Your account might be suspended or deleted at our discretion, generally only if you messed up really bad by trying to subvert our service or systems to the clear goal of disrupting our operations. We get really annoyed by that.
Nothing. The samples you submit are stored locally and do not leave Malwr's infrastructure unless you manually specified at submission time. While we do invite everyone to share as much as possible with the community, we do also understand the need of keeping some data private for operational reasons.
We might use some of the samples, even private ones, to test our sandbox and potentially improve it where necessary if the malware appear to be able to evade it or subvert it. We treat all the consumers of our service equally, but there might also be some unusual cases where we are legally required by law enforcement to share the data, in which case we would notify you if applicable. That being said, it shouldn't happen if you don't fuck up in the first place.
The whole content of the website is released under Creative Common's CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 license, which is the general guideline regarding redistribution of our material. Feel free to contact us for additional information or possible alternative agreements.
Our informal policy is that you can do pretty much what you want with it as long as you maintain the credits and you don't abuse it to make a profit off of our work. That's not right. AntiVirus vendors and other commercial organizations constantly crawling the website for whatever reasons (yes, we see that) are invited to contact us as well, we could facilitate your work without overloading our servers.
Usual stuff. You use this website at your own risk and you accept the terms understanding that this service is provided "as is", "as available", "as possible", "as etc". We are not responsible if you infect yourself with the samples retrieved from this website or in any way physically, mentally and digitally harm yourself while using Malwr. We are not responsible in any case for the data and files uploaded by our users.
